Every morning

One thing
you once
knew comes
back.

Chosen for resonance: the ones you loved, the ones tied to this date, the ones you keep rereading. You answer it, and the entry grows a ring.

LessonNo. 12

The winter we did not close

Open at six. Especially when nobody is coming.

January 1996. The ore boats stopped and half of Superior Street went dark. Anders’s back was gone, so I ran the counter before school and he worked the dough from a stool. One Tuesday we sold eleven loaves. I wanted to close until spring. He said the people still coming were the people who would keep coming. By March we were short of flour. A shop is not a building. It is a promise about six o’clock, and you keep it on the days it costs you.

You wrote this on this day in 2023.

Capture

Typed, spoken, or photographed from a handwritten page. A lesson, a quote, a story. Seconds, not an evening. Every extra field is optional.

Act two

Echo

One past entry returns every day at your hour, chosen for resonance. You answer it: still true, changed my mind, or a reflection. The entry grows a ring.

Act three

Bind

Forty entries fill a volume. The editor arranges the manuscript and you approve every change. A hardcover arrives with your name on the spine.

Gifts

Give it to the one whose stories you want to keep.

A father who says he should write it down and never does. A grandmother whose stories live only at the kitchen table. A gift opens a year of echoes and a bound Volume One. The guided interview asks the questions and keeps their voice.

Privacy is absolute

  • Your words are never used for anything but serving you.

  • Row-level security on every table.

  • Export everything, or delete your account, any time.

Read the whole policy. It is short and written in plain language.
